So, how was your weekend? Mine was fine, thanks for asking. I had an unexpected snow day, some good time with my family, and several hours sitting on the couch watching the NFL playoffs. What’s that? Something about a Lobo game on Saturday? Not ringing a bell. But they do have a game Tuesday night against UNLV!

Men’s Basketball Game 16 Preview: Nevada
Following a tough trip to Logan, UT, where they lost a tough game to Utah State, the Lobos return to the friendly confines of the Pit Saturday night to face Nevada. Nevada has looked like one of the best teams in the conference and will certainly come in thinking they can win this game, so the Lobos will need to put on a good performance if they’re going to avoid back-to-back losses.
Men’s Basketball Game 15 Preview: Utah State
After pulling out a huge road win against San Deigo State, the Lobos are back at it Wednesday night, where they’ll head to Logan, UT to take on the Utah State Aggies. Last year, the Lobos had this same road trip, but instead of a great win, they were coming off a deflating, controversial loss and came out flat. Hopefully this game will also be the exact opposite as last year’s.
Men’s Basketball Game 14 Preview: San Diego State
Fresh off a conference-opening win against Fresno State, the Lobos will open 2017 with a visit to San Diego State. The Aztecs are again the conference favorites, so a win would be great for the Lobos, and for pretty much every team in the conference not named San Diego State.
Our Top Lobo Memories from 2016
2016 is finally, mercifully behind us. And while the year has been a rough one in a lot of ways, we still ended up with a lot of great memories from following the Lobos over the past 12 months. Without further ado, here are our favorite Lobo memories from the past year.
Men’s Basketball Game 13 Preview: Fresno State
After a, let’s say, rocky non-conference season, the slate gets wiped clean and the Lobos will now turn their attention towards a conference championship. Their first test will be Fresno State, the reigning conference tournament champions. They also have their sights at the top of the conference standings, so this will likely be an emotional, competitive game.
Men’s Basketball Midyear Conference Reset
Now that conference play is about to start up, we figured that it’s time to take a step back to see how all of the teams in the conference fared so far this year and then try to figure out what we think will happen these next few months. There are no terrible teams in the conference this year, but there also aren’t any great teams either, which means that this year has the potential to be pretty wild.
Men’s Basketball Midyear Player Report
Now that we’re done with non-conference play, it seems like a worthwhile time to take a step back and see how all of the players are performing so far. As we did in our season preview for the players, we’ll be looking at some advanced stats to try to get a sense of what’s working, and what’s not working, for each player.
Some Scattered Thoughts about Men’s Basketball
After last night’s drubbing at the hands of Arizona, the Lobos head into the holiday break at a definitive low point. In lieu of actually recapping that atrocity of a game, here are a few scattered thoughts about what’s happened so far this season.
Men’s Basketball Game 12 Preview: Arizona
After facing a clearly-overmatched opponent in Arkansas-Pine Bluff at home, the Lobos head to Tucson, AZ to face a team on the other end of the spectrum. The Lobos will take on the 19th-ranked Arizona Wildcats Tuesday night, looking for what would be a huge upset win that would definitely get their season back on track.
