Our Top Lobo Memories from 2016
2016 is finally, mercifully behind us. And while the year has been a rough one in a lot of ways, we still ended up with a lot of great memories from following the Lobos over the past 12 months. Without further ado, here are our favorite Lobo memories from the past year.
Track and Field Outdoor Championships Preview
Starting this afternoon, hundreds of athletes will converge on Eugene, Oregon to compete in the NCAA D1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Among those athletes will be 10 Lobos, all of whom will be looking to cap off their great seasons – and in some cases, collegiate careers – with a strong showing against the best that college track and field has to offer. Simply making to the championships is impressive enough in its own right, but several of these Lobos have good shots at earning a spot as a first-team All-American.
State of the Programs: Part 2
At long last, here is the second part of our look at the state of the various UNM Athletics programs. Previously, we looked at the programs that have been struggling recently and whose immediate goals are to be in the conversation for a conference title. This time, we’ll look at the programs that are already there and whose goals are to be relevant on a national scale. In the final installment, which we swear will happen at some point, we’ll take a look at the programs who are already competing for national titles.
